Proparco, EIB and EBRD provide €87.4 million for construction of Total Eren’s solar power plant in Uzbekistan

The government of Uzbekistan’s plans to develop 8 GW of solar and wind capacity by 2030 have received a major boost following the approval of an €87.4 million financing package jointly organised by the European investment Bank (EIB), the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and Proparco. The funds will be used to construct and put into operation a 100 MWac (equivalent to 131.3 MWp) photovoltaic solar power plant near the city of Samarkand.

On the occasion of the visit of the French Minister of Economy and Finance, Mr. Bruno Le Maire, Proparco and the NSIA Group have signed a new partnership to finance Ivorian companies. The Choose Africa Resilience portfolio guarantee granted by Proparco will cover XOF 2,500,000,000 (€3.75M) of loans granted by NSIA BANQUE to entrepreneurs.

Proparco is helping COFINA structure agricultural sectors in Burkina Faso

Fatoumata Sissoko-Sy, PROPARCO’s Regional Director for West Africa, and Dramane Bazié, Chief Executive Officer of COFINA Burkina Faso, have signed a Technical Assistance project to finance the agricultural sector under PROPARCO’s “Fragile Countries” initiative.
The Technical Assistance to the Compagnie Financière Africaine Group (COFINA), one of the leading pan-African groups for MSME financing, will make it possible to launch a study on the cotton sector to subsequently promote the implementation of appropriate financing solutions for MSMEs in Burkina Faso’s agriculture sector.
