Propulse: a range of support to maximise the positive impact of our financings
Proparco uses Propulse to help its clients deploy their projects or improve their practices by providing targeted strategic or technical assistance tailored to their challenges. The aim is to boost the positive impact of their activities and contribute effectively to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Proparco mobilises its expertise and complementary financing arrangements to provide concrete solutions for its clients – businesses, financial institutions and funds – to improve the resilience of local economies, protect the planet and contribute to reducing inequalities.

Objective No.1: Supporting the sustainability and resilience of economies
Through its Propulse technical assistance programme, Proparco helps small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to improve their environmental and social practices, strengthen their governance, develop their innovation capabilities and adapt to crises and fragile contexts.

Proparco, through FISEA+, allocated a 490 000€ Technical Assistance (TA) facility to Agris Africa Limited and its affiliated agri-food enterprises in Kenya and South Sudan. The purpose of this TA facility is to support internal transformation projects to ensure the sustainable growth of Maris in East Africa.

Through Propulse, Proparco encourages its clients to integrate climate and natural capital issues into their strategy in a more effective way by:
- designing more sustainable products or services
- ensuring their resilience to climate change
- helping to decarbonise economies
- preserving natural capital and ecosystems
Project focus - In South Africa, Proparco is helping Investec with its climate finance strategy
In 2023, Proparco granted a €500,000 technical assistance facility to Investec to support its climate strategy by facilitating more effective integration of climate considerations into decision-making, the design of innovative products and the identification of investments with a positive climate impact.
Objective No.3: Encouraging the reduction of inequalities and the inclusion of vulnerable populations
By providing essential goods and services to populations, private sector players actively contribute to reducing socio-economic and gender inequalities. The Propulse offering enables Proparco's clients to:
- increase access to certain essential services (education, financing, healthcare, etc.)
- improve gender equality practices
- factor in the needs of vulnerable populations more effectively by encouraging responsible practices
