According to the UN, the rate of investment in drinking water needs to be increased sixfold, investment in sanitation fivefold, and investment in hygiene threefold, if we are to meet the targets of SDG 6 by 2030, which aims for universal and equitable access to safe drinking water, hygiene and sanitation.
Now more than ever, the “water and sanitation” issue finally seems to be making its way up the international agenda. France is playing its part by jointly organizing, along with Kazakhstan, Saudi Arabia and the World Bank, the One Water Summit – December 3, 2024 – on the sidelines of COP 16 on the fight against desertification.
