Through its ARIZ mechanism, Proparco is strengthening its partnership with Société Générale Cameroon, a player committed to MSMEs.
Client presentation
Société Générale Cameroon was formed through the takeover of Banque Commerciale Africaine by Société Générale Group in 1947. It was created with the participation of the Cameroonian State and several international banks, including Société Générale.
Project description
Proparco has signed a partnership with Société Générale Cameroon, on behalf of AFD, under the ARIZ program, which is implemented through the resources of AFD Group.
The objective is to increase the allocation of medium and long-term financing to small and medium-sized enterprises operating in Cameroon, for a total amount of XAF 9,839,355,000 (EUR 15m).
Project impact
AFD Group’s ARIZ risk-sharing program was launched in 2008 and aims to reduce the financing gaps faced by small and medium-sized enterprises, in particular due to the lack of collateral guarantees or difficulties in preparing financial statements.
