Proparco has renewed its support to the energy service company AktivCo by contributing to financing the construction of energy infrastructure in the areas where the company already operates.
Client presentation
Founded in 2015, AktivCo, a subsidiary of Camusat Group, is a French energy service company (ESCO). It supports telecom operators seeking to outsource the energy supply of their telecom towers through an innovative segment called T-ESCO (Telecom - Energy Service Company). AktivCo has been a client of Proparco since 2021 through several transactions.
Project description
The project is in line with the new strategy of AktivCo, which is now seeking additional financing for CAPEX related to the construction of additional energy equipment (solar panels, batteries, etc.) in its existing geographical areas of operation. Contrary to previous financing, the new transaction will take place at the parent company level, AktivCo SAS, in order to enable more flexibility in the allocation of funds and better address its needs.
Project impact
The expected impacts of this financing are as follows:
- 1,352 direct jobs supported in the company over the next 5 years and 2,980 indirect jobs in the value chain
- This financing has 57% of climate mitigation co-benefits. Indeed, a significant proportion of the funds will serve to finance renewable energy generation infrastructure to supply telecom towers, and thereby replace the fossil fuels currently used
