Client presentation
“Banco BTG Pactual S.A.” (BTG) is a major player in the financial system in Brazil and all over Latin America. BTG is the largest investment bank in Latin America, the 6th largest bank in Brazil in terms of capital and a key player in the allocation of loans and guarantees, from SMEs to large companies. BTG is a pioneer in promoting climate finance in Brazil and plays a key role in channeling green resources for projects that have a positive impact on mitigating the effects of climate change.
Project description
Through this loan, Proparco is supporting the implementation of BTG’s climate finance strategy by financing the bank’s green loan portfolio.
Project impact
The project is expected to create or maintain some 5,400 direct or indirect jobs over the next 5 years. More generally, through its impacts, the project should contribute to SDG n° 8 (Decent work and economic growth) and n° 13 (Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts).
