Overview
Emmanuelle Matz, has developed an extensive experience in structured financing for 30 years, through different positions held to support sustainable development projects. She started her professional life developing a tax lease department at Crédit Lyonnais dedicated to the financing of energy efficiency and waste to energy programs in France. Through different positions in the French banking group and then, with Barclays Capital, she structured and led many multisourcing financing transactions in emergent countries. She then expanded Proparco’ debt & equity’s investments in the energy & infrastructure sectors, leading a team of 45 experts in energy & infrastructure project financing with the aim of developing solutions contributing to limit the impacts of Climate Change. This creative & dedicated team has supported the implementation of the largest African Renewable IPPs through tailor made solutions and supported the development of the first renewable energy projects implemented in the Latin American and African continents.
As senior analyst in the AFD Sustainable Development Second Opinion unit, she dedicated the last 5 years to supporting the investment officers in optimizing the SDG contributions in the infrastructure, financial and biodiversity projects, focusing on climate, biodiversity, reduction of social inequalities and governance challenges.
Convinced that preserving nature is key to support a sustainable development for all, she recently joined AFD Climate and Nature unit, to foster positive impacts on biodiversity on the group activities.
