Proparco announces the appointment of Emmanuel Haye as Head of the Financial Institutions and Inclusion Division

Proparco announces the appointment of Emmanuel Haye as Head of the Financial Institutions and Inclusion (FII) Division, within the Financing Department. He succeeds Gonzague Monreal, who was appointed Director of Proparco’s Financing Department.

A graduate of EDHEC Business School, with further training in corporate finance from the Institut d’Administration des Entreprises (IAE) de Paris, Emmanuel Haye has more than 30 years of experience within AFD Group, including 15 years in its network across the African continent. He has held various positions in private sector and financial institution financing, notably in Côte d’Ivoire, Madagascar and Tunisia, before being appointed Deputy Director of AFD’s Mozambique office in 2011.

In 2015, he joined Proparco’s headquarters as Deputy Head for Africa and the Mediterranean within the Financial Institutions and Inclusion Division. Since then, he has contributed to the development and monitoring of Proparco’s financing activities with financial institutions, with particular expertise in issues related to SMEs, climate and inclusion.

In his new role, Emmanuel Haye will be responsible for leading the development of Proparco’s financing activities with financial institutions across all its regions of operation. In particular, he will be responsible for supporting Proparco’s partner banks and other financial sector players and mobilising the institution’s various financing instruments to advance its priorities in support of SMEs, climate action and reducing inequalities.

I am very pleased to take on the leadership of the Financial Institutions and Inclusion Division and to continue our commitment alongside our partners. Having worked both in the field and at headquarters throughout my career, I have seen first-hand how essential financial institutions are in addressing the private sector’s financing needs and supporting major transitions across our countries of operation. Together with Proparco’s teams, we will continue to mobilise our expertise and solutions, particularly in support of SMEs, climate action and inclusion.

The Financial Institutions and Inclusion Division at the heart of private sector financing

The Financial Institutions and Inclusion (FII) Division leads the development of Proparco’s financing activities with financial institutions across all its regions of operation. In particular, it supports banks and other financial sector players in strengthening their capacity to finance the economy and meet the needs of businesses and local populations.

By mobilising a diverse range of instruments – credit lines, bonds, guarantees, credit funds and climate finance solutions – the Division contributes to Proparco’s priorities, particularly in terms of SME financing, the fight against climate change and reducing inequalities.
