A strategic alliance to sustainably invest in the infrastructure needed to build fair, resilient, and sustainable economies.

On the occasion of the Africa Forward Summit, organized by France and Kenya in Nairobi on May 11–12, Proparco—a subsidiary of the Agence Française de Développement (AFD) Group—and Meridiam will sign their first strategic partnership agreement. This agreement marks a significant step forward in strengthening cooperation between Proparco and a mission-driven company deeply committed to developing sustainable and resilient
infrastructure.

The agreement will commit both institutions to sharing expertise and human resources; conducting forward-looking joint reflections on development challenges and social and environmental issues; and launching joint initiatives to support sustainable infrastructure projects across their shared geographies of operation.

This agreement will further strengthen a longstanding working relationship between Proparco and Meridiam, particularly in Africa and in several emerging countries where both institutions are active. Their respective activities—development finance for Proparco and the design, investment, and management of sustainable infrastructure for Meridiam— are highly complementary. Through its affiliation with the AFD Group, Proparco brings geopolitical insight, financing instruments, and sectoral expertise, while Meridiam contributes its know-how as a long-term infrastructure investor and operator, structuring, financing, and managing sustainable projects by mobilizing private capital for the benefit of local communities.
