Overview
Marie-Hélène LOISON has been Deputy Director General since July 2021, after having been AFD's Deputy Director of Operations (from 2018 to 2021). She started her carreer in 1996 in export finance at Société Générale Paris.
In 2000, she joined Proparco, the subsidiary of AFD in charge of private sector financing, to work on structuring financing in the agro, tourism and health sectors. She later joined the private equity division, as investment officer and later on as head of the division in 2008. In 2011 she was appointed deputy CEO of Proparco. In 2015 she joined AFD as Director for Middle East and North Africa.
She is also a member of the Investment Committee of Proparco, as well as Board Member.
She graduated from the Institut d’Etudes Politiques of Paris, and from the School of Advanced International Studies in Washington, D.C.
