Proparco’s loan will contribute to financing the investment program for the three airports for which SCA is the concessionaire in Cambodia. The investments planned for Sihanoukville Airport mainly comprise the rehabilitation and extension of the runway, and the construction of a terminal. For the Phnom Penh and Siem Reap airports, the investments mainly concern the rehabilitation and extension of runways.
Project impact
The upgrading of airport infrastructure will support the development of local tourism and generate major economic benefits for the Government and local populations. The opening of Sihanoukville Airport will also facilitate the exploitation of energy resources from the Gulf of Siam and promote the expansion of logistics and port activities in this region.
