Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú contributes – through scholarships, grants and loans – to providing access to quality higher education in the country. Proparco is supporting the upgrading of its campus in Lima.
PONTIFICIA UNIVERSIDAD CATOLICA DEL PERU (PUCP) was founded in 1917 by Father Jorge Dintilhac and four five laymen. The PUCP is a Peruvian higher education establishment among the country’s leading universities. PUCP includes ten faculties and offers degree, master’s and PhD courses. It has a capacity for some 25,000 students and enjoys an international reputation for academic excellence.
Proparco’s financing will contribute to funding the development and upgrading of the PUCP campus in Lima. The loan will be earmarked to finance the construction of a new university building equipped with modern technolgy for active learning and a library with six floors for the engineering, science and architecture faculties. This building holds a LEED Certification, an ecological label in the construction industry.
This project will support the development of an academic institution that works to improve access to higher education. Indeed, PUCP offers students various systems of scholarships, grants and loans. It will also contribute to developing quality higher education. PUCP has been elected the country’s best university by most worldwide university rankings and aims to become an international reference for excellence.
