Mobilitas Group, a major player in international mobility, physical and digital records management, and heritage conservation, restoration and digitization, has been a partner of Proparco for 10 years. It has just obtained a EUR 20m senior loan from Proparco to support the development of its activities in Africa and the French overseas territories.
Client presentation

Mobilitas is a family business founded in 1974 by André and Sarah Taïeb and has been a partner of Proparco since 2014. It is a major player in international mobility, with a turnover of almost EUR 550m. Following a phase of significant expansion in the historic business of international removals, in particular via its Africa 54 Plan (completed in 2016 making the company the leading private player present in all 54 African countries), Mobilitas has diversified its business since 2017 into the digital records management and heritage sectors.

Project description

The project involves a EUR 20m senior loan. It is the third operation between Proparco and Mobilitas.
This loan will enable Mobilitas to strengthen its position as a leader in Africa. It will also finance the continuation of its diversification strategy, especially through the construction of warehouses in Ghana, Kenya, Mozambique, Tanzania, Uganda, as well as New Caledonia, and its acquisitions of records management companies in Côte d’Ivoire, Morocco and Zambia.

Project impact

The project will contribute to sustainable and resilient development, especially in Africa, by creating and maintaining local jobs for the construction and operation of new warehouses.

The project is also aligned with the criteria of the 2X Challenge, reflecting Mobilitas’ commitment to gender equality: representation of women in its governance and all the positions in the company, and adoption of specific procedures against discrimination and gender-based violence to protect female staff.

The project will contribute to SDGs 5 (“Gender equality”) and 8 (“Decent work and economic growth”).
