IPT has been operating as an energy services and equipment provider to Mobile Network Operator in Africa and the Middle East. The group covers the following business activities: 

  • Equipment sales
  • Services/O&M to MNOs
  • ESCO
  • Assembly for energy and telecom equipment
Project description

The project consists of a $33 million loan to support sales of innovative energy equipment solutions as part of the trading business, as well as financing capacity expansion in Guinea-Conakry and developing ESCO projects in new countries (Ethiopia and Guinea-Bissau).

Project impact

The expected impacts of this project are: 

  • 250 jobs created and 49,462 direct and indirect jobs maintained over the next 5 years
  • 41,000 tons of CO2 avoided (energy efficiency) through the hybridization of telecommunications infrastructure in remote regions in the two countries

The project will contribute to SDGs 8 “Decent work and economic growth”, 9 “Innovation and infrastructure” and 13 “Climate action”.
