Alios Finance SA was set up in Senegal in 1965 under the name SAFCA (Société Africaine de Crédit Automobile) and over the years has become one of the leading players in the auto leasing sector. The group currently operates in Côte d’Ivoire, Mali, Burkina Faso, Senegal, Cameroon, Gabon, Kenya, Tanzania and Zambia. The main activities of the Alios network are leasing, investment loans, consumer loans and long-term leasing.
Project description
The capital increase in which Proparco is taking part will support ALIOS Finance SA’s development, and particularly its regional expansion strategy in East Africa.
Project impact
This operation will strengthen the local financing capacity in countries where long-term financial resources are insufficient. Alios Finance Group’s activities specifically focus on the SME segment and the Group’s various subsidiaries are among the main financial institutions for SMEs in their countries of operation. The operation will contribute to the development of the activity in key economic sectors, particularly in Kenya, Tanzania and Zambia. In addition, it will help improve access to financial services for SMEs.
