Parminder Vir Obe served as the CEO of the Tony Elumelu Foundation, an African philanthropic organisation based in Lagos (Nigeria) from April 2014 to April 2019. She managed to launch the ambitious entrepreneurship programme TEF Entrepreneurship Programme, a 10-year, 100 million dollar commitment to identify, train, mentor, and fund 10,000 entrepreneurs from across the continent. Prior to joining the Foundation, Parminder Vir had a career as an award-winning film and television producer and was a private equity investor in film and media. She received the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in 2002 from Queen Elizabeth II for her services to the Broadcasting and Film industry.
