Kazakhstan: Proparco partners with Rönesans to finance a major hospital in the city of Kokshetau

Proparco is participating in a EUR 365 million financing package for the first healthcare facility management public-private partnership (PPP) project in Kazakhstan, together with EBRD and AIIB, as well as DEG, ICD and DBK. This debt facility will help Rönesans Holding’s subsidiary to build and operate a major hospital in the city of Kokshetau.

Beacon Power Services Secures Series A Funding to Accelerate Sustainable Data-Driven Solutions for Africa’s Power Sector

Accra, November 7, 2024 – Beacon Power Services (BPS), an energy tech company providing data and grid management solutions to help Africa’s power sector distribute electricity more efficiently, today announced the closing of a Series A financing round for an undisclosed amount. The round was led by Partech, with participation from Finnfund, Gaia Impact, Proparco, and previous investors Kaleo Ventures and Seedstars Africa Ventures. Additional investors in this round include Clermount, Global Brain and its CVC partner JGC MIRAI Innovation Fund, and On.Capital. Clermount acted as a financial advisor to Beacon Power Services in this transaction. The funding will enable BPS to enhance its product offerings, support growth in its current operations, and expand into new markets across Eastern and Southern Africa.

Proparco and Stanbic Bank Zimbabwe support access to long-term financing for farmers via a EURIZ facility

Proparco is providing Stanbic Bank Zimbabwe with a EUR 5 million EURIZ facility to support its ability to offer long term finance to local farmers operating in the Zimbabwean agricultural sector. The signing ceremony was held in Harare on 29 October 2024, in the presence of representatives from Proparco, Stanbic Bank Zimbabwe, the French Embassy and the EU Delegation to Zimbabwe.

FMO, FinDev Canada and Proparco support Argentinian renewable energy sector with USD 100 million FMO-syndicated loan to Genneia

FMO, FinDev Canada, and Proparco, the Dutch, Canadian, and French development finance institutions, announced the signing of a USD 100 million syndicated facility to its longstanding customer Genneia S.A, Argentina’s largest wind and solar power producer. Acting as lead arranger and facility agent, FMO contributed a total of USD 30 million as lender to this facility. FinDev Canada, Canada’s bilateral Development Finance Institution, and Proparco, a subsidiary of the Agence Française de Développement Group (AFD Group), contributed as lenders to this transaction with USD 40 million and USD 30 million, respectively. The funding will be used to finance the construction of two greenfield renewable energy projects: a 90 MW and 180MW photovoltaic solar plants.
