Proparco and Admaius Capital Partners join forces with Saint Christopher Iba Mar Diop Medical School to support medical education in Senegal

In Senegal, Proparco is partnering with Admaius Capital Partners to support Saint Christopher Iba Mar Diop Medical School through the FISEA+ facility. Established in Dakar in 2003, Saint Christopher has grown up into one of the largest private medical training institutions in Francophone Africa, with over 2,000 students currently enrolled in medicine, pharmacy, and dentistry programs.

Kazakhstan: Proparco partners with Rönesans to finance a major hospital in the city of Kokshetau

Proparco is participating in a EUR 365 million financing package for the first healthcare facility management public-private partnership (PPP) project in Kazakhstan, together with EBRD and AIIB, as well as DEG, ICD and DBK. This debt facility will help Rönesans Holding’s subsidiary to build and operate a major hospital in the city of Kokshetau.

Proparco and AfricInvest finance Lapaire to support accessible optical care in Africa

Proparco and AfricInvest together approved financing for Lapaire Glasses SA, an optical retail chain offering quality eyewear at a fair price in West and East Africa (Ivory Coast, Benin, Togo, Mali, Burkina Faso and Uganda). USD 2.5M in financing will be made available from AfricInvest and EUR450k from Proparco, through its Bridge by Digital Africa facility, to support the improvement of optical care coverage on a continent where the WHO estimates that 80% of visually impaired people do not receive proper care. AfricInvest and Proparco’s financing will enable Lapaire to improve its territorial coverage in the countries where it currently operates, while ensuring the expansion of its network in Senegal, the D.R. of Congo and Tanzania.
