Proparco has provided a €30 million debt facility to Rönesans Saglik Yatirim A.S., a subsidiary of Rönesans Holding, to finance the construction of a major hospital in the city of Kokshetau, Kazakhstan.

Proparco has announced the financing of Rönesans Saglik Yatirim, a subsidiary of Rönesans Holding, and umbrella company for healthcare sector public-private partnership (PPP) investments, including six hospitals in Turkey.

The EUR 30 million senior loan will be allocated to finance the equity contribution to the Kokshetau Hospital. It will support the international growth of the group by allowing the construction and maintenance of a 630-bed multidisciplinary hospital in the city of Kokshetau under a 7-year public private partnership (PPP) contract signed with the Republic of Kazakhstan on 22 December 2022. This new healthcare facility will enhance the access to quality medical care and provide services to more than 730,000 people living in the city of Kokshetau and the wider region of Akmola.

Rönesans Holding is a Turkish conglomerate and long-standing client of Proparco, which operates as a main contractor and investor in the construction, energy, healthcare, real estate and industrial investments in more than 30 countries in Europe, Middle East, Asia, the Caribbean and Africa. Rönesans currently has six operational hospital projects in progress and a total capacity of 9,000 beds in Turkey.

This loan follows Proparco’s participation in October 2024 in a financing facility, co-arranged by EBRD and AIIB.
