Latin America and the Caribbean
During the 2000s, Latin American countries achieved significant progress, which reduced poverty and led to the emergence of a new middle class. Despite this progress, Latin America needs to overcome a number of barriers to its sustainable development, starting with reducing social and spatial inequalities and preserving the environment.
