Lionbridge Financial Leasing is the largest truck leasing company in China. It has over 100,000 SME and autoentrepreneur clients, mainly in rural areas. Lionbridge now wants to develop its range of leased electric trucks under its green leasing program. The main advantage of this technology is that it does not directly emit any exhaust gas particulates
Project description
Proparco’s credit line will allow Lionbridge to finance the acquisition of over 300 electric trucks.
Project impact
Proparco’s financing is expected to support almost 730 direct and indirect jobs over the next 5 years. More generally, the credit line should help improve air quality in urban centers, contribute to the emergence of the electric truck market (knock-on effect) and support financial inclusion for people living in deprived areas with very limited access to credit for their professional purchases.
