Legacy Girls' College
Located in Akuse, in the Eastern Region of Ghana, Legacy Girls’ College provides quality and affordable education to 400 girl students. From 2015, the school is looking to form a new generation of Ghanaian women with core values like Integrity, Responsibility and Excellence. To finance its expansion, Legacy Girls’ College is supported by Oasis African Fund, in which the FISEA fund, managed by Proparco, has invested.

Aurora, a school with a social impact in the Democratic Republic of Congo Founded in 2012, Aurora Institute responds to the needs of Kinshasa's growing middle class and provides to their children a quality and affordable education that meets international standards. It now has 800 students. It was supported by the African Rivers Fund (ARF), managed by XSML Capital, in which Proparco has invested. Thanks to the support of ARF, Institut Aurora has one of the highest exam pass rates in the country.

Unlocking the potential of the private sector to improve education
Significant progress has been achieved in the education sphere since the World Education Forum in Dakar in 2000. In ten years, the number of children attending primary school in the world’s developing countries has risen - by more than 40 million in low- and medium-income countries. This progress has steadily spread into secondary and higher education, too. Yet wider access to education has often been attained at the cost of quality.
