PROPARCO's activity Report 2017
In 2017, Proparco celebrated its 40th anniversary. That’s the age to look back on past achievements and to set future goals. And that’s what we have done, with an ambitious new strategy focusing on five impact targets that we’re strongly committed to reaching by 2020.

PROPARCO's activity Report 2016
2016 was a significant year for Proparco: implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the Addis Ababa Action Agenda on financing for development, and the Paris Climate Agreement which all became integral to the new milestones of the Agence Française de Développement (AFD) Group, of which Proparco has been the private-sector financing arm for 40 years.

PROPARCO's activity Report 2015
2015 was a red letter year for the sustainable development agenda. The Addis Ababa Conference on Financing for Development, the UN General Assembly on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the COP21 conference established guidelines for a new, universal approach to tackling the interrelated, interlocking issues of economic development, social inclusion and preservation of our planet. Those many goals cannot be reached unless all the stakeholders – from companies and financial institutions to central governments, from civil society to local authorities – pitch in to help.

Proparco Annual report 2014
2014 was an impactful year for PROPARCO, one in which we adopted a new strategy and increased our share capital by €200m. With a changing range of international fi nancing available to Southern Hemisphere countries (new backers, foundations, investment funds and local banks), it was essential for PROPARCO to re-examine its positioning. The goal was to add more value so that PROPARCO could more effectively meet its partners’ needs.

Proparco Annual report 2012
In 2012, we consolidated our role as promoter of development and our status as responsible financier of the private sector in the South. To start with, we stepped up our presence in Sub-Saharan Africa, a region all too often bypassed by international investment flows. Africa has always been a primary focus of our work, and it still is. In 2012, half of our financing went to Africa, mainly to support agriculture, banks and infrastructure. That’s almost 40% more than in the previous year.

Proparco Annual Report 2010
For PROPARCO , 2010 has been an African year. With more than 420 million Euros in new commitments (almost 45% of annual financing), we have become sub-Saharan Africa’s leading bilateral partner. This region has always been one of our priorities; our legitimacy depends on it. Credit for these unprecedented results belongs to my predecessor, Luc Rigouzzo, as does our presence in Latin America and the Caribbean. PROPARCO has considerable aspirations for these regions with the opening this year of an office in Mexico City.

Proparco Annual Report 2005
After the stabilisation of our activities in 2004, 2005 looks to be a year of strong growth with commitments in the order of €370 M and an annual growth of 70%. This trend is the result of a combination of a positive economic situation in the countries constituting PROPARCO’s sphere of activity, an increased presence in the field and synergies resulting from PROPARCO’s multilateral and bilateral partnerships created with private financial institutions.
