The international arm of one of the world’s largest development organisations, BRAC, has launched a capital markets debt programme that will secure financing for its microfinance operations for the coming decade. Proparco, with a 25 million dollars facility, have participated to the launch of the programme alongside Global Partnerships.

Proparco has signed a USD 20 million senior loan with Jolaks Manufacturing Company (Jolaks) in Sierra Leone. This financing will support Jolaks' edible palm oil refinery, a key player in Sierra Leone's agri-food sector, thus helping to meet the region's growing food security challenges. It will also enable the company to install a biomass power plant, thereby reducing its carbon footprint.

Development Finance Institutions, British International Investment ("BII"), FMO, and Proparco, and renewable fund manager Frontier Energy today announced a co-investment of over $52 million for Planet Solar, a greenfield 50MW solar power project in Sierra Leone, developed by Frontier Energy and Planet One. The co-investment enables the development of a critical project that stimulates investment in renewable energy - responding to the urgent need for access to clean, affordable and stable power.
