PROPARCO has just signed two new loans in China. The first USD 20m loan has been allocated to CD Finance, China’s main microfinance institution in rural areas. It will be exclusively earmarked for access to microcredits for women microentrepreneurs in Gansu Province. The second USD 10m loan will finance Lionbridge’s green leasing program for electric trucks.

Proparco participated in IFC's landmark $150 million blue syndicated loan for Bank of Qingdao (BQD), marking its and IFC's first blue finance investment in China. This new investment will enable BQD to provide $450 million in financing for 50 blue finance projects in China by 2025. Blue loans are innovative financing instruments that earmark funds exclusively for ocean-friendly projects and critical clean water resources protection.

To help China meet the challenges of sustainable water management, Proparco and its German counterpart, DEG, have each granted a USD 50 million loan to China Water Affairs Group Limited (CWA), one of the largest operators in the sector.
This USD 100 million loan will be used to upgrade water management infrastructure in the provinces of Jiangxi and Hubei and is Proparco’s first infrastructure finance project in China.
