As part of the Africa Financial Industry Summit (AFIS) to be held in Lomé on November 15 and 16, 2023, Proparco and Vista Bank Group have just signed several guarantee and loan agreements to help finance micro, small and medium-sized enterprises. The strengthening of the partnership between Proparco and Vista Bank Group confirms a strong and lasting commitment to African entrepreneurship, and is in line with the French presidential initiative Choose Africa.

Proparco, on behalf of the French Development Agency (AFD), has signed a partnership agreement with Societe Generale Guinea within the framework of the EURIZ program implemented thanks to the resources of the European Union's (EU) European Fund for Sustainable Development (EFSD) and the Organization of African, Caribbean and Pacific States (OACP).

Mobile network telecommunication towers, ensuring coverage of the territories and providing access to digital services, are essential to support growth in developing and emerging economies. However, a large share of telecommunication towers is not connected to the national power grid, and usually works on fuel generators. Through a $20 million loan granted to the Lebanese company IPT Powertech, Proparco will contribute to the energy efficiency of mobile towers, significantly reducing their CO2 emissions and operating cost, improving access site economics.

The project consists in the granting of a USD 10 million envelope to guarantee trade finance instruments issued by Vista Gui, a subsidiary of the Vista banking group, the country's largest bank in terms of the size of its network and the second largest contributor to the financing of the economy. This line of credit, with a maturity of 2 years, is intended to support the financing of the import of basic necessities and capital goods in Guinea.
