The international arm of one of the world’s largest development organisations, BRAC, has launched a capital markets debt programme that will secure financing for its microfinance operations for the coming decade. Proparco, with a 25 million dollars facility, have participated to the launch of the programme alongside Global Partnerships.

Proparco and FMO, respectively the French and Dutch Development Finance Institutions, signed a USD 30 million loan to Banque Populaire du Rwanda (BPR), with both providing USD 15 million each. Proparco has acted as the mandated lead arranger of the USD 30 million credit facility.

Nairobi, August 31st, 2020 - Energy Access Ventures (EAV) is pleased to announce a follow-on investment in Solarise Africa, a pan-African clean energy and energy efficiency leasing company. The round was led by French development finance institution, Proparco, which invested the USD equivalent of 4 million Euros in quasi-equity through the AFD Group European Union (EU) -funded African Renewable Energy Scale-Up facility, alongside existing investors, EAV and EDFI ElectriFI, an EU-funded impact investment facility. EAV previously led the seed investment round in Solarise and is proud to continue to support the company as they lead the revolution towards smart distributed energy in Africa through innovative financing solutions.
