Union J.Plus: a key player in plastic recycling in Thailand

Every year, Thailand generates more than 2.5 million tonnes of plastic waste, of which barely 25% is recycled. The rest often ends up in landfills – or, worse, in natural ecosystems, particularly marine ecosystems. Against this backdrop, Union J.Plus, partnered by the Circulate Capital Ocean Fund I-B, is playing a key role in the country's plastics recycling industry.

Proparco's regional office in Bangkok was opened in 2004 as Proparco's first offices in Asia. The office was in charge of identifying and representing projects in Thailand, Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam. Since then, Proparco's intervention zone has expanded to include Indonesia, the Phillipines, Mongolia, China, and Myanmar.

In Southeast Asia, GreenYellow makes full use of solar energy

Created in 2007 and supported by Proparco, it helps its customers reduce their energy consumption and switch to greener, less expensive energy.
