The facility is aimed to support short term needs of the bank’s customers and to weather challenges caused by the COVID-19 pandemic to micro, small and medium sized enterprises in Georgia.

The operation consists in a $50 million credit facility to JSC TBC Bank ("TBC"), Georgia's leading bank, which will be dedicated to financing SMEs in the country.

Proparco has granted a €100 million loan to JSC TBC Bank (TBC Bank) in Georgia. The loan facility, of a maturity of seven years, will be primarily used to finance climate-related investments and female entrepreneurs in Georgia. The facility will reaffirm TBC’s leadership position in the Georgian banking sector for green and sustainable lending and contribute to inclusive economic growth in the country.

Proparco and Credo Bank signed an equity investment agreement based on which Proparco has become a new shareholder of the bank. The investment supports the acquisition of Finca Bank Georgia by Credo and serves as a strong capital base for further growth of the bank.

The five-year investment facility aims to provide post pandemic support to micro, small and medium sized enterprises in Georgia, as well as building further resilience to cope with regional uncertainties. This facility will be guaranteed by the European Union's EFSD COVID program, launched to support businesses impacted by the pandemic crisis.

Credo Bank signed GEL 44 million Finance Agreement with one of the leading European Development Finance Institutions – PROPARCO (Groupe Agence Française de Développement).

After a first successful transaction with TBC Bank in 2012, Proparco granted a EUR 9 million multicurrency financial facility to JSC TBC Leasing, Georgia’s largest leasing company.

Proparco has granted a USD 10 million financing to the Georgian microfinance institution JSC MFO CRYSTAL ("Crystal"), to support the development of its loan portfolio. Crystal is the leading microfinance institution in the country and operates mainly in rural areas, targeting micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and the agricultural sector. This facility will be guaranteed by the European Union's EFSD COVID program, launched to support businesses impacted by the pandemic crisis.

This grant will finance exceptional protective equipment costs caused by the pandemic. It recognizes the key role the private sector is currently playing to overcome the health and economic crisis and illustrates Proparco’s sustained commitment to its clients.
