Proparco is participating in a EUR 365 million financing package for the first healthcare facility management public-private partnership (PPP) project in Kazakhstan, together with EBRD and AIIB, as well as DEG, ICD and DBK. This debt facility will help Rönesans Holding’s subsidiary to build and operate a major hospital in the city of Kokshetau.

KMF and Proparco have been cooperating in the field of business development for over three years. Within the framework of the new cooperation agreement, Proparco allocated $30mn to KMF for financing businesses in the regions of Kazakhstan.

By allocating KMF a loan in local currency (Kazakh tenge) equivalent to USD 15m, PROPARCO is reiterating its support to a major microfinance player whose clients are mainly rural dwellers.
