A new loan agreement in the amount of USD 35 million has been successfully signed between Proparco and AKLease. This is the only loan facility Proparco has extended to the Turkish financial sector in 2021. Through this agreement, AKLease will finance energy efficiency and renewable energy investments.

FMO and Proparco announced today the launch of a EUR 80mln syndicated facility to support Kılıç Deniz, Turkey’s leading aquaculture player, which is growing and producing sustainably certified fish. The syndication is led by FMO, the Dutch development bank, which is committing EUR 65mln, with participation from Proparco, France’s development finance institution, committing EUR 15mln. The syndicated facility will be used to support Kılıç Deniz’s ongoing business expansion across Turkey, further promote the company’s sustainable production of sea bass, sea bream, and rainbow trout, while also optimize its balance sheet.

The operation consists of a EUR 37 million senior facility granted by Proparco to support Sanko Group, one of the biggest Turkish conglomerates, mainly operating in textile, energy, cement and packaging, in its sustainability strategy for its textile manufacturing subsidiary, Sanko Textile.

Proparco extended a €25 million loan to Yapı Kredi, Turkey’s 4th largest private bank and one of the leading institutions in the financing of renewable energy projects in the country. This loan will further enrich the bank’s commitment for Turkey’s sustainable development.

Proparco has just granted a €50 million loan to Yapı Kredi Leasing. This financing will be entirely allocated to support Yapı Kredi Leasing’s growth in climate finance, funding investments such as Wind Power Plants, Solar Power Plants and Electric Vehicles. This is the highest amount ever granted by Proparco to a leasing company.

Through its Trade Finance Guarantee program, supporting imports, Proparco is accompanying his long-term business partner, OdeaBank AS in developing its activities in Africa. Proparco will be able to issue guarantees benefiting OdeaBank AS in their trade finance operations initiated by one of the issuing banks of Proparco’s Trade Finance Guarantee program. OdeaBank is the first Turkish commercial bank to join Proparco’s Trade Finance program.

A total facility of EUR 105 Million will be provided to Denizbank, Isbank, QNB Finansbank, strategic partners for Proparco in Turkey. Proceeds of the financing will be on lent directly to individuals, micro enterprises and SME located in the earthquake regions.

Proparco has granted RE&UP Recycling Technologies, a circular-tech textile recycling venture of SANKO Group, a senior loan that will enable RE&UP to scale its next-gen recycle fiber production and textile recycling capacity, while reducing its carbon and water footprint. Thus, setting it on the path to become one of the largest textile-to-textile recycling companies globally.

Proparco and DenizBank have successfully signed a 45 million euro senior loan. Thanks to this facility, the Turkish bank will expand its support to green projects (renewable energy and energy efficiency) and the agricultural sector.

Proparco has granted a new 25 million euro credit line to Türkiye İş Bankası (İş Bank). Turkey's leading private bank, with a balance sheet total of more than 69 billion euros, İş Bank is a historical partner of Proparco, the first credit line between the two institutions having been signed nearly 10 years ago.

Proparco has invested in Green & Social Project Bonds for the first time: it has purchased some €40 million worth of these bonds to finance the construction of a public hospital with over 1,000 beds in the Eastern Turkish city of Elazig.

In April 2017, Proparco allocated a EUR 15m loan to the Turkish project company BRS Sağlık Yatırım A.Ş to finance the construction of a public hospital in Bursa and improve access to healthcare in this province. Bursa is Turkey’s fifth largest city, located in the Marmara region in the west of the country. This new 1,355-bed hospital complex was officially inaugurated today in the presence of the Director General of Investments of the Turkish Ministry of Health, representatives of Proparco and sponsors, constructors and operators, including Rönesans Holding, the constructor and operator, and Meridiam, France’s leading infrastructure fund.

Long-standing partners Proparco and İşbank have just signed a financing agreement to support İşbank's climate and entrepreneurship activities. The €100 million credit line granted by Proparco will enable İşbank to develop its climate portfolio and to achieve its ambitious environmental goals.

FMO and Proparco announced today a USD 82.5 mln syndicated facility to support FMO’s long-standing customer Tiryaki Agro, one of Turkey’s leading agricultural commodity traders and supply chain managers. The syndication is led by FMO, the Dutch entrepreneurial development bank, which is committing USD 62.5 mln, with participation from Proparco, committing USD 20mln. The syndicated facility will refinance the DFIs’ existing loan with Tiryaki Agro, while increasing and extending their commitment to continue supporting the company with the working capital needed for its agribusiness operations worldwide.

FMO and Proparco announced a 60 M€ syndicated loan facility to Turkey’s leading aquaculture player Kılıç Deniz, which grows, produces, and exports sustainably certified fish. Also participating in this transaction is ILX Fund, an SDG-focused emerging market credit fund in Amsterdam. The syndicated facility will be used to finance Kılıç Deniz’s capital expenditures and working capital requirements and further expand their sustainable aquaculture growth.
