The guarantee package granted by Proparco amounts to 12 million dollars. It will enable Banque pour le Commerce et l'Industrie (BCI) Mauritanie to strengthen its import financing activity in Mauritania, which is essential for the functioning of the economy.

As the AFD Group celebrates its 40th anniversary in Mauritania, Proparco and Attijari bank Mauritania (ABM) signed two guarantees that will cover loans granted to companies for a total of 5.5 million euros. These guarantees will enable the bank to strengthen its supports to Mauritanian SMEs.

Absa Bank (Mauritius) Limited (“Absa”), a leading financial institution established in 1919 and a subsidiary of Absa Group Limited, has secured $75 million in senior debt financing from Proparco. The closing of this transaction was recognised during a ceremony held on the 25th of April in Port Louis. This milestone financing underscores a shared commitment to driving climate action and sustainable development in Mauritius and beyond.

Proparco is supporting Banque Mauritanienne de l’Investissement (BMI), Générale de Banque de Mauritanie pour l’Investissement et le Commerce (GBM), and Banque El Amana (BEA) through its Trade Finance Guarantee Programme, for a combined total of 40 million euros.

The guarantee package granted by Proparco amounts to $15 million. It will enable Banque Populaire de Mauritanie to strengthen its import financing activity in Mauritania and increase its contribution to the country's supply.
