Fatoumata Sissoko-Sy, PROPARCO’s Regional Director for West Africa, and Dramane Bazié, Chief Executive Officer of COFINA Burkina Faso, have signed a Technical Assistance project to finance the agricultural sector under PROPARCO’s “Fragile Countries” initiative.
The Technical Assistance to the Compagnie Financière Africaine Group (COFINA), one of the leading pan-African groups for MSME financing, will make it possible to launch a study on the cotton sector to subsequently promote the implementation of appropriate financing solutions for MSMEs in Burkina Faso’s agriculture sector.

Proparco has just made a USD 5m subscription to a social and green bond issued by Symbiotics for a total amount of USD 14.5m. The proceeds from the bond will be onlent to the Armenian bank Araratbank with the objective of financing SMEs, microenterprises and green projects. The issue took place via the innovative MSME Bonds SA platform.

After a pilot Trade Finance project launched in 2017 with Ecobank Group subsidiaries in Mali, Burkina Faso, Guinea and Côte d'Ivoire (and their French subsidiary as confirming bank), PROPARCO has just signed a USD 10M Trade Finance Guarantee Programme with Ecobank Liberia Limited (ELR).
