Djalal Khimdjee and Alexandre Pointier are Proparco's new Deputy CEO

Djalal Khimdjee et Alexandre Pointier
They replace Amaury Mulliez and Hélène Templier.

Djalal Khimdjee has close to 20 years of experience in the fields of development and investment finance at an international level. He started his career in the telecommunication sector with Alcatel Group in 1998 before joining PROPARCO’s infrastructure team in 2005. From 2009 to 2013 he joined  IFC’s infrastructure department as a Principal Investment Officer structuring various transactions in Middle East & North Africa. In 2013, he became deputy head of AFD’s “Structured Finance” division before taking the position of Director of AFD’s department in charge of  “Access to Finance & Structured Finance”. Djalal holds a Master degree in Finance from ESCP Europe as well as an engineering degree in Telecommunication from the Institut National Polytechnique, Grenoble.


Alexandre Pointier was appointed Deputy Chief Executive Officer of PROPARCO by the Board of Directors on 19 October 2018.
From 2001 to 2010, Alexandre Pointier worked on credit markets in London, successively for BNP Paribas, Deutsche Bank and Barclays Capital. In his last position, he was Global Head of Structured Credit Markets. He subsequently decided to join the State civil service and, after working for a period at the French Permanent Representation to the European Union and another at the Prefecture of the Île-de-France region, in late 2014 he joined the Inspectorate General of Finances at the Ministry of the Economy and Finance.
Alexandre graduated from the Saint-Etienne School of Mines (ENSMSE), the Insurance and Financial Science Institute (ISFA), the Paris Institute of Political Studies (IEP), and the National School of Administration (ENA).
