Syvash windfarm
The EUR 43m loan will finance the construction and operation of a 250 MW wind farm in the Kherson region, in southern Ukraine. The Syvash farm is expected to become the country’s largest renewable energy project and will contribute to the diversification of its energy mix.
Client presentation

The loan has been allocated to SyvashEnergoProm LLC, the project company owned by Total Eren, an independent renewable energy producer based in France, and NBT, a Norwegian developer of renewable energy projects in emerging countries.

Project description

The loan allocated by Proparco will go towards the construction and operation of a 250 MW wind farm in the Kherson region, in southern Ukraine.

Project impact

While Ukraine has significant renewable energy potential, in 2017 it only accounted for 2% of the country’s total generation capacity (excluding large-scale hydropower projects).
Once the project has been completed, the wind farm will generate the equivalent of the annual electricity consumption of some 270,000 people every year. The power plant will also contribute to diversifying the country’s energy mix and to avoiding the emission of some 470,000 tons of CO2eq a year.
