Prime Bank is established in Kenya, but also operates in Malawi, Botswana and Mozambique. It aims to strengthen its resources to finance local companies and meet demand for loans denominated in foreign currencies.
Prime Bank Limited was set up in 1992 and is a medium-sized universal bank offering banking services to companies and private customers. It has 17 branches and over 400 permanent employees. It is also established in Kenya, as well as in Malawi, Botswana and Mozambique.
Proparco’s loan will allow Prime Bank to strengthen its long-term resources, offer long-term financing to local companies (large companies and SMEs), and meet increasing demand for loans denominated in foreign currencies.
By meeting the considerable financial needs of Kenya’s private sector, this operation will promote long-term investments in Kenya and will contribute to the economic development of the country.
