Agrisatch, a subsidiary specialized in the production and distribution of poultry products in Benin, meets growing food needs in the subregion and contributes to reducing reliance on imports.
CDPA (Comptoir de Distribution de Produits Alimentaires) is a Beninese family-run company set up in 1988, which imports and exports frozen food products. In 2004, the group set up Agrisatch, a poultry product production and distribution firm. It has an annual production of 30 million eggs and 75 tons of poultry meat.
Proparco’s loan will contribute to Agrisatch’s investment program. This program plans to build 2 poultry houses, 2 brooding houses, a feed mill, a slaughter plant, cold storage facilities and an administrative block. It will also renew and increase the company’s vehicle fleet. This project will allow CPDA’s subsidiary to multiply its production capacity by a factor of 2.5.
This project will contribute to meeting growing food needs in the subregion, while supporting the development of local industry. It meets the group’s aim of scaling up its local production activities in order to reduce its dependence on imports and create more added value in the country.
