The bank is the main subsidiary of Lafise Group, one of the regional leaders in the field of financial services, with operations in 11 countries in Central America and South America. Banco Lafise Bancentro started its operations in 1991, under the name Banco de Crédito Centroamericano, S.A.
The project involves a USD 30m loan to Lafise, which is more broadly part of a USD 100m DPR (Diversified Payment Rights) program arranged by Crédit Suisse.
Proparco’s financing will promote the export sector for Nicaraguan products and in particular the country’s SMEs.
