Proparco confirms its commitment to the company by contributing €15.5 million to Voltalia's capital increase, thus maintaining its participation at 4.1% of the capital.
Voltalia currently has a portfolio of more than 1 GW of renewable energy (wind, solar, biomass and hydro) in operation and under construction. This €376 million capital increase will enable Voltalia to continue its development and will help the company reach an ambitious target of 2.6 GWh of total installed capacity in operation or under construction in emerging and developing countries by 2023.
Creadev, also a strategic shareholder, and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), which is a new shareholder of Voltalia, also participated in this operation.
These projects should improve people's access to renewable energy and avoid the emission of more than one million tonnes of CO2 per year.
