The $50 million loan granted to DP World Posorja will finance the construction of a new deepwater port terminal in the Guayaquil region, Ecuador's economic capital.

This new infrastructure will provide Ecuador with an entry point for vessels with a capacity of more than 10,000 containers (TEUs), ensuring full integration into international trade networks and contributing to the competitiveness of the agri-food export sector that boost the country's economy.

This new terminal will create more than 400 jobs and help limit carbon emissions from maritime transport by accommodating more efficient ships.

The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and the German Development Bank (DEG) are also participating in this financing.
