When commissioned in 2023, the plant will produce more than 2,900 GWh/year, or nearly 30% of the country's electricity production. It will improve and secure people's access to electricity while contributing to the country's low-carbon transition and lowering the average cost of electricity production in the country.
This is the second consecutive year that a project financed by Proparco receives a PFI award after the one received in 2018 for the renovation and expansion of the Antananarivo and Nosy Be airports in Madagascar (category "Transport - Africa/Middle East").
