Michel Folliet
Michel Folliet is the chief industry specialist for IFC’s Building Materials Sector. He graduated from École Centrale de Lyon, and received an MBA from George Washington University. Folliet joined the IFC in 2006 after 25 years experience in the cement industry, in France, the U.S., Venezuela, Bangladesh, Malaysia, and Cameroon. He started his career in process engineering and plant production, and has held positions as project director, technical and industrial director, vice president of international development, and country general manager. ► Download Michel Folliet's paper -
Vincent Mages
Graduated from ESCP business school (École Supérieure de Commerce de Paris) in 1982, Vincent Mages has been working in the publishing sector with international sales responsibilities before joining Lafarge in 1988. Within Lafarge, Vincent Mages has occupied various positions in France and in Japan, in the cement, in the aggregates and in the gypsum activities, in marketing business development and strategy. Before becoming the Climate Change Initiatives VP in October 2006, Vincent Mages was Group Internal Communications VP. ►

Jacques Sarrazin
Jacques Sarrazin has been in charge of strategy at Lafarge since 2000. He joined the Group in 1990 to lead the cement strategy and went on to manage Lafarge’s plaster operations in Europe and the international development of plaster and specialized materials. He graduated as an engineer from MINES ParisTech and holds a Ph.D in management. Philippe Guinet
Philippe Guinet joined the European Investment Bank in 1993, where he is presently Technical Advisor for Heavy industries in the Projects Directorate. From 1974 to 1993, he held various operational and managerial positions in the private sector in and beyond Europe. Jacques van der Meer
Jacques van der Meer works as deputy economic adviser at the European Investment Bank’s (EIB) Project Directorate, where he is in charge of the appraisal of R&D projects. Before joining the EIB in 1991, Jacques van der Meer lectured strategic management at the Rotterdam School of Management of the Erasmus University and the École Supérieure de Commerce de Lyon (nowadays EM de Lyon). He holds a PhD from the Twente University of Technology, Netherlands. ►

Hendrick van Oss
Hendrik van Oss is an economic geologist who since 1996 has worked for the U.S. Geological Survey’s National Minerals Information Center as a commodity specialist covering cement, ferrous slags, and coal combustion byproducts. Between 1988-1995, he was a country specialist with the U.S. Bureau of Mines, and prior to that, he spent a decade in the mineral (chiefly gold) exploration industry in the western United States. ► Download Hendrick van Oss' paper

He works since 2004 in CRAterre-ENSAG, as a scientist researcher specialised in the relations between microstructure and macroscopic properties of earthen materials. He’s co-responsible of one of the three themes of the scientific programme of CRAterre, named Matter / Materials. Laetitia Fontaine
Laetitia Fontaine is an engineer specialised in buildings materials. She works since 2004 in CRAterre-ENSAG, as a scientist researcher specialised in the relations between microstructure and macroscopic properties of earthen materials. She’s co-responsible of one of the three themes of the scientific programme of CRAterre, named Matter / Materials. She’s the award winner, for her doctoral research, of the fellowship For Women in Science awarded by L’oréal - UNESCO - French Academy of Sciences. Thierry Joffroy
Thierry Joffroy is an architect and works in the CRAterre-ENSAG laboratory for 25 years, now head of the “heritage” theme of the scientific program. He has been involved in development and conservation of heritage projects in over 40 countries and has completed over 250 missions of research and consulting. Thus, he has a very good knowledge of land application of research, but also of organizations and institutions involved in technical and scientific cooperation programs. He works regularly with the World Heritage Centre of UNESCO and is involved in the design and implementation of major research programs: Africa 2009 CentralAsianEarth, WHEAP (World Heritage Earthen Architecture Programme). ►

Eric Ruiz
Eric Ruiz is an architect and urban planner, and researcher at CRAterre-ENSAG laboratory. He has held various positions in conception and production of major social housing programs. He was director of "Comunidades" housing project in Brazil (1,000 low-cost housing) and in charge of social housing program in Mayotte (France) from 1996 to 1999. Pierre-Olivier Boyer
Pierre-Olivier Boyer graduated from the École du commissariat de la marine (Naval Administrator's College); he also holds a Master’s in Economic Science. He joined Vicat Group in 2001 where he holds the position of Human Relations Manager. He has also been President of the “Constructive Innovations Hub” in the Rhône-Alpes region since 2007. Guillaume Mortelier
Guillaume Mortelier is an engineer and graduated from Ecole polytechnique and Ecole nationale des ponts et chausses (civil engineering school). In 2008, after five years of experience in strategy consulting (Bain & Company) and private equity investment (Astorg Partners), he joined Proparco where he makes equity investments, particularly in the industrial sector. Dens Sireyjol
Denis Sireyjol graduated from the ESSEC international business school, ENSEEIHT engineering school and holds a Master’s in Artificial Intelligence. He has been working for Agence française de développement (AFD) since 2007. He was previously an investment officer at Allied Irish Banks in Paris in 2005 and 2006. He subsequently spent two years in Madagascar for AFD where he was in charge of private sector financing. He joined Proparco in 2009 as an investment officer in the “Corporate” team, which works in the sectors of agribusiness, construction, services, health and education and tourism. ►
