Proparco in the 1st Investment and Savings Forum
Proparco participated in the first edition of the Investment and Savings Forum in Africa organized by SOAGA (West African Asset Managing Company) on 14 and 15 September 2009 at the Cotonou Palais des Congrès in Benin.
During this first edition, Laurent Demey, Deputy CEO of PROPARCO, led a conference-debate on the topic of the contribution investment funds make in Sub-Saharan Africa. (go to Mr. Demey’s presentation)
AFD/PROPARCO also had a stand where the public could learn about AFD Group’s operations to support the private sector. (PROPARCO and AFD activities)
The Investment and Savings Forum is one of the main forums in Africa in terms of investment, savings, stock markets, and portfolio and asset management and aims to promote exchanges between the different players on Sub-Saharan African banking and financial markets. It also aims to present all the financial, banking and insurance products that are available on these different markets and make them easier to use for investors. This event provides a platform for meetings, debates and information sharing and will be held every two years in an African capital.
PROPARCO’s presence at this event underscores its commitment to support the development of Africa’s financial markets.
These markets contribute to a wider circulation of capital and a more efficient allocation of savings to productive activities and consequently support sustainable economic growth.
