Proparco at the Mines 2006 conference

Mr Laurent Klein, representative of Proparco for the Southern Africa region, has participated as speaker at the workshop “Financing mining project in Southern Africa” of the Mines 2006 conference. Mines 2006 was the fourth in a series of Sector Partnership Meetings (SPMs) held under the aegis of the EU-SADC Investment Promotion Programme (ESIPP). It was a forum where promoters and entrepreneurs from the Southern African region presented a carefully selected variety of new and high-quality business development projects in the Mining sector to interested European and other international investors.
The presentation of Proparco, alongside DBSA, EIB, Capricorn (Bank Windhoek) and Standard Chartered Bank, has highlighted the growing commitment of development finance institutions, together with commercial banks, to provide appropriate financial tools to small or large companies investing in the region.
