With a US$10 million loan, Proparco will allow the microfinance institution KMF to develop its activities beyond its current 200 000 clients.

Since it was launched by a NGO in 1997, KMF has continuously increased its activities while retaining its ambitious social mission to improve living and working conditions for agricultural entrepreneurs. Most of its 200 000 clients are indeed living in rural areas.

Proparco has been financing microfinance institutions for many years as part of its goal to support sustainable development and financial inclusion in developing and emerging countries. In 2016, 12 projects in favor of microfinance institutions were signed by Proparco, for a total amount of €61 million.
