In 2015, Proparco granted a 16 million dollar loan to the Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra University (PUCMM), to be used to build and equip a new Faculty of Health Sciences and to expand the Engineering Faculty. With almost 18,000 students, PUCMM is the fourth-largest university in the country and employment rates for graduates are close to 100%. AFD has also been partnering the University since 2006 to support the social inclusion policy that targets deserving Dominican and Haitian students from low-income backgrounds. More than 5,000 students have already benefited from this programme.
